Thoughts
My “Wantjoin” automatic bubble tea cup sealer (#ad) paid for itself in a few hours. It’s fast, affordable and provided my candy with excellent protection from rough handling, heat and moisture.
Extreme testing proved that the contents shown above were able to withstand being locked in and tossed around the backseat of a vehicle for nearly 60 days in the Texas summertime heat. Aside from a little candy dust, the contents were just as crispy as the day they went into the cup.
Storage / Handling
Bubble tea cups when used for freeze dried candy are an awesome alternative to mylar bags and deli containers.
Pros:
- Airtight
- Crush / Heat resistant
- FAST! (~500 units per hr.)
- Cost effective
- Easily identify contents
- Stackable
Cons:
- Initial machine investment
- Cups not as decorative as bags
- Cups not resealable
!Don't Forget!
In order to use the machine, you will need to purchase the sealing film (#ad) that matches the cups you plan to use.
I like PP cups (polypropylene) (#ad) because they are less expensive than PET cups, but they are still rigid enough to provide crush resistance.
Note: PP and PET are both food-safe plastics and ok to use for candy.
Additional Necessities:
Note on cups:
Varieties on cups can be limited and I recommend going with 1 maybe two different sized cups, a small option and a large option.
The cups in the demonstration suit my needs and my price points per unit – which is why I chose 12 and 22 ounces, respectively.
I bought my cups locally through GBT foods. To browse the cups they have available, check out their catalogue HERE. *In order to place orders through GBT Foods, you will have to first set up a business purchasing account with them.
